The Organ Fund of St. Peter's Anglican Church has been given a major boost thanks to a significant donation from St. Peter's Bay SRL, to assist with the payment for the new organ the church recently invested in.

Chairman of St. Peter's Bay SRL, Bjorn Bjerkhamn, who recently presented a cheque to the church's rector, Reverend Peter Haynes explained that as a long standing member of the St. Peter community, he felt it necessary to give back to the area.

"I have been a resident of St. Peter for the last 45 years and it is my pleasure and privilege to make this contribution to the St. Peter's Anglican Church which will be put to good use for the benefit of the community," Bjerkhamn said.

Reverend Peter Haynes, the rector of the church, accepted the donation and expressed his appreciation for the generous gesture saying: "We are pleased to see the community spirit of the St. Peters Bay group and thank them for their worthy contribution which will be of great service to our congregation and the entire community."

The St. Peter"s Bay project is due to start construction within the next six weeks and will be the second largest development on the West Coast of Barbados with fifty seven luxury beachfront condominiums.

It will benefit the island through the provision of significant foreign exchange and will employ approximately 200 Barbadians during an anticipated building period of over two and a half years will use local materials wherever possible.
